We’re a bit late in getting our newsletter out this month due to being gone for a week on vacation.  Yes!  We actually were able to take a weeks’ vacation this year and visit the mountains of East Tennessee in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area along with family.  This was Phyllis first visit to this part of the “woods” too!  This week was an extra special week complete with visits by black bears for two nights,  a day out touring the National Park, another day “Gatlinburgin” and some great quiet time enjoying the mountains.

Office Remodel Update

Last month we shared a bit about the remodeling of the offices here in Louisville.  Great progress has been made since that report.  Jim has completely moved into his office which is now only waiting carpet cleaning and cove base.  Once that’s in place he’ll be all set.  Our other 3 new offices are pretty much at the same place.  One of our staff members is rejoicing in that this is the first time in all of her many years on staff with CrossRoads Missions that she’ll have an office “with a door”!

Golf Scramble

The Sales Manager for Digital Promotions is a committed supporter of CrossRoads Missions.   As a result of his devotion to the ministry he is spearheading our first every Golf Scramble to benefit CrossRoads Missions.  Details are in the image.

Maytown

Our Appalachia ministry has partnered with the Maytown Center for a good many years.  The past 12 months or so have been difficult months for the center as their leadership changed hands – and they also took a look at how to continue serving the community.  We’re delighted to be able to commit to a partnership with the Maytown Center in our Appalachia field through 2014!

Building in New Orleans

CrossRoads Missions owns a building in New Orleans that we truly no longer need to accomplish our ministry goals.  Thus we’ve put the building up for sale with a local realtor.  Pray with us for the sale of this building as doing so will returned needed financial resources back to the ministry.

Mexico Field

Our Mexico field is coming back online!  We have a new Field Director, along with committed staff, to once again enable mission trips to the Piedras Negras area of Mexico starting with this fall.  We are very excited about this opening as this field has been “quiet” for quite some time mostly due to the border issues along the U.S. and Mexican border.  Visit this link for more information.

Team Life Bike Ride

Last year many of you helped by providing sponsorship donations for the ride to where we raised almost $1,500.00 for this cause in line with our mission and Biblical values.  This year we’re hoping to garner more riders and surpass our goal of raising $10,000.00.   We would be delighted to have your sponsorship again this year, along with some new folks coming on board to help us save babies from abortion.  Donation sponsorships can be done online, or by mailing a check.  Click here for details to donate online or by check.  We would love for you to ride with us on August 10th … that would be so cool!  Details are at the same link.  UPDATE: roughly $400 in sponsorship donations have been received to date for Jim’s participation in this ride!
