Meijer Community Rewards Members
We’ve been able to transfer our current Meijer’s account to our ministry with CrossRoads Missions! We have consistenly received an average of $50 a month in rewards benefits from our Rewards Members efforts. If you’d like to participate in this program, just let us know and we’ll send you our account details. It’s a great program that literally costs you nothing to participate. Your shopping volume at Meijer’s is credited to our program and proceeds from such go towards our ministry support account. Read more …
Relocation Update
March 18th we placed a “For Sale By Owner” sign in our yard officially putting 1405 Mahlow Drive up for sale. We also have it placed in the local newspaper with a link to online photos and information. We have had a steady stream of folks contacting us about the house and coming by to check it out. On March 28th we entered into a contract for purchase. We are now going through the inspection process and then next the final stages of the buyer’s loan process. We have continued to chat w/ others about the house and show it while collecting names and phone numbers of interested parties just in case our current contract falls through.
Phyllis has been busy packing -Â taking care of things in closests, in the attic, and other items we don’t have need of for now.
Jim is coming up to speed as he’s been down due to a recent accident. One evening he was helping a neighbor move some furniture around. Jim was carrying a heavy table out the front door and down the steps to the garage. It had been a rainy day, and the porch and carpet on the porch where pretty wet. As best as Jim can piece it all together — his left foot slipped off a step causing him to land on the outside ankle of that foot – which he severely sprained along with two minor fractures. He then continued to fall backwards – where he ultimately, and gratefully, landed on his back in the driveway and partway into the yard. He also injured his right knee, has a big bump on his left arm near the elbow from hitting something. Due to the knee and ankle injury he’s been laying around with ice paks on the injured areas. We’re thankful for the quick healing that has taken place and are praying for continued improvement.
Our plans, at this time, are to look for an apartment in the Shelbyville area (20 miles east of Louisville). We’ll be looking for a two bedroom, two bath, single floor, lower level apartment. We feel that this would be the easiest route to getting relocated with the least amount of stress. Once there, we can then begin looking to see what the Lord has for us in the direction of purchasing a house.
Phyllis has plans for a yard sale underway to make available those items that we will not be moving with us — such as our couch and loveseat and various other goodies.  Our refrigerator, range, clothes washer and dryer are items that will go with the house sale.
Once moved we also begin looking for a replacement vehicle for Phyllis’ 93 Plymouth Voyager van (which has 265,000 miles on it), most likely a small, economic four door sedan – as we are putting it up for sale before we leave Texas.
It’s looking like we won’t have near as much ‘stuff’ to move as we had we when came to Longview!
Moving Plan Dates - the following dates are tentative which we will firm up once we know that the house will close on schedule.  You can also visit our “Activity Calendar” (whose link is to the right) at any time to get an update.Â
