Phyllis has become quite the expert in using the new embroidery machine that CrossRoads embmachineMissions has acquired. After a few days training in Chicago this month, learning the ins-and-outs and tips from the pros she is now able to produce quality embroidered clothing. She has embroidered nearly 100 items this month, from t-shirts, to sweatshirts, to hoodies, each with a custom logo on it. This resource helps all of the team members and partners of CrossRoads Missions to present a professional and identifiable look when out in the public representing. In addition, Jim is working to place the items that Phyllis embroiders with CrossRoads themes on the CrossRoads web site. When purchased their proceeds provide needed funds to help underwrite the ministry and operating costs of CrossRoads Missions.

We have about eight different designs that are embroidered from small logos that contain around 10,000 stitches to our large appliques that are 11″ in size which primarily go onto sweat shirts and hoodies. We’re excited about the avenues that this tool will afford to our mission as we are able to help other partnering missions and churches by serving their embroidery needs. Having apparael with CrossRoads Missions logos will also help increase the awareness of our ministry as folks begin to publicly display their apparel within their churches and small groups.

Largest Help Build Hope Event Ever!

On Saturday, September 30th we participated in the largest Help Build Hope event ever! In partnership with a Louisville church, Southeast Christian Church, CrossRoads Missions framed up 33 homes in less than five hours! There were more than 6,000 volunteers participating in the parking lots of the church. CrossRoads staff began working on this event more than six months ago. The logistics of such an event, 6,000 + volunteers, 33 homes, 28,000+ cuts of wood, 680+ walls, 11 semi-trailers to transport the walls, 5,000 Chik-fil-a sandwiches, countless bottles of water and on and on.

These 33 homes will be transported to the New Orleans area to be finished out in the coming months. The homes are being used to provide low-cost housing for other believers who desire to return to the area. As such, they can become a catalyst for the return of the body of Christ to the devastated areas of New Orleans. With churches being rebuilt and church members returning we have a unique opportunity to make a major impact for the cause of Christ in the area.

Web Site

Jim is excited about being able to help develop a temporary web site for Faith Bible Fellowship of Lebanon, OH – a new church plant by our home church Faith Bible Church in Cincinnati, OH. You can visit the site by going to www.fbflebanon.com. This temporary site is in place until the I.T. team at Faith Bible is able to migrate the site to the church’s internal web servers.

Financial

Last year we heard a missionary family speak at a church. Their starting words went something like this “we are here today to share with you about our ministry. We’re happy to report that we do not have any financial needs as God has abundantly supplied us in this area”. It’s rare that we hear missionaries share such great news. The opposite is most often the case. Most missionaries are reporting, whether they are based in North America or overseas, that finding support partners is becoming more and more difficult.

Our confidence is that the Lord has many venues for meeting our needs and that, in His time, according to His plans and in His way, our financial needs will be supplied. To that end we thank you for your faithful partnership with us in work, ministry and mission of CrossRoads Missions. God is using you to accomplish with us our invovlement with CrossRoads Missions.

Love — Jim and Phyllis
