Local Ministry Update

In order to better serve the community, with the hope of the Gospel, we are creating an entity named the Metanoia Center. The mission of the Metanoia Center is to transform individuals, households, neighborhoods, and communities by sharing the life-giving message of Jesus Christ by providing training and education opportunities. This will be accomplished through public training seminars such as Faith & Finances, Creation Health and Basic Computer Skills.  These “core courses” are designed to address the needs of the community in a Biblical fashion.  One of the desired outcomes of these courses is that participants, who are not part of a church family, get connected to a local church.

The word “metanoia” is about change, re-birth and transformation. In some verses of the Bible it is the English word “repent”. This Greek word is from metanoein ‘to change one’s mind.’ The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as “a transformative change of heart; especially a spiritual conversion”.

One of our goals for the Metanoia Center is to become a non-profit, 501c3, Bible-based community organization.  The center will have board oversight consisting of individuals with a passion for urban ministry, as well as members from within the community.

We are in need of an attorney, or other legal professional, who is willing to guide us in the process of the legal requirements for the state of Ohio as well as the federal government.  We are reaching out to help in this effort.  Our prayer is that someone reading this newsletter knows of such an individual, and is willing to arrange a meeting to discuss our needs, and, their potential help.  Ideally this would be someone who would be willing to provide their services as a ministry to the Metanoia Center or at incredibly reduced cost.  The Metanoia Center does not, at this time, have financial funding. We are also seeking partnerships, and a grant writer, to assist with the financial needs of the Center.

2 Peter 3:9 (NIV): The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Getting Started

The Lockland Schools are working on an initiative to establish a Community Learning Center (CLC) within the schools.  The CLC is designed to offer resources, training, courses and seminars that will benefit the students and parents of the Village of Lockland.  Over a series of planning meetings, with the school superintendent and assistant superintendent, we have been give the opportunity to begin providing the core courses of the Metanoia Center, Faith & Finances, Creation Health and Basic Computer Skills, to the community, through the schools as part of the CLC effort.
