Web Site Ministry

This past month we introduced a new ministry web site to the World Wide imageWeb for AIMS.  The ASSOCIATION OF INLAND MISSION SCHOOLS (AIMS) is an intercultural, international, faith-based organization of the evangelical tradition, comprising Americans, Liberians and other nationals who are committed to primary, elementary and secondary education in the West African Republic of Liberia which is recovering from a devastating military revolution that left the nation and its people battered,   bruised and broken.  Click here to check out the new web site and find out more about the mission and work of this organization!

There are several new ministry web site partnerships potentially on the horizon – two under development which includes an Arabic teaching ministry and a community health evangelism ministry.  In addition we are discussing potential sites for a Bible camp and an orphange.  It’s been a rather slow year in this venue of our ministry work as economics has slowed down the resources available to ministries. In the past year 12 ministries have either canceled their web sites, or considerably tailored them back.

Ministry News

We are often asked, towards the end of a calendar year, about what kind of needs, or project needs we have.  At times a church, Sunday School class, or  individual is considering end-of-year donations.  Please check out the following list.  All donations can be mailed to CrossRoads Missions, 3231 Ruckriegel Parkway, Suite 111, Louisville, KY, 40299 with a note enclosed as to their designation.

  • Mexico Ministry Field – we continue to progress the work on the “Community Center”.  This is a building in the Piedras Angular community that serves as CrossRoads Missions base of operations – and housing for those on mission trips with us.  Funds are needed towards completion.
  • New Orleans Field – similar to Mexico, funds are needed to continue to bring our facility there up to code so that it may be used to house teams on mission trips with us.
  • Louisville Offices – we are where we need to upgrade Office Suite software on our computers.  The approximate cost is $600 for all computers. [UPDATE: this need has been met!  Thank you!]
  • Personally – the ongoing need for ministry support is always with us.

Caleb Update

Caleb has recently been back in Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati.  Followup visits with Drs revealed some abnormalities in his eyes – specifically spots from hemorrhages and beginning retinal detachment.  A virus was suspected.   This period of time back in the hospital was one of ups-and-downs the whole time as the medical team attempted to determine cause.  While there, some additional previously planned surgeries were conducted as well.  He continues to grow, and to improve for which we are so very grateful.

Many around the world have been praying for him and his mom and dad!   We recently received a wonderful card – pictured here – letting us know that folks are praying.  This card is hand made!  It was sent to us by the Special Needs Class at Faith Bible Church signed by the class members.  It reads “We prayed for you, Elizabeth and Matthew and baby Caleb today.  We send our love.”  Thank you for your continued prayer support as we know it makes a huge difference!

Car Crash

Several weeks ago Jim was hit by a car while riding his bicycle home from the mission offices.  The bike was totaled and has now been replaced by the drivers insurance company.  The car had started up from a dead stop thus, fortunately, it was only going about 5 or 10 MPH.  Jim was doing about 15 MPH on his bike.  He was knocked to the ground and into the lane of opposing traffic. PTL that no vehicles were in that lane.  After several weeks of being really, really sore from the impact he is now all healed up and back on the road on the new bike!  He has one more Drs office visit before the Dr gives him an “all clear”. So grateful!

As we close out this update please allow us to wish you and your family a most wonderful Thanksgiving at the end of this month.  Our plans are to be back in Cincinnati with family for a few days that weekend as well.
