Project Give is a special dress-down formal affair sponsored by CrossRoads Missions on Sunday, October 28th at 4:00 pm at the Mellwood Art Center, Louisville, KY.  For more information, details and to register as an individual or sponsor a table go here!  During this special event attendees will help in framing up one of our Help Build Hope houses that will eventually make it’s way to help in the recovery of Henryville, Indiana as a result of this springs tornado!

Hurricane Isaac

Isaac has come and gone!  The first hurricane to be dead-on to New Orleans since Katrina.  It was Katrina that brought CrossRoads Missions to New Orleans where we continue to maintain a presence sending short term mission teams to the area.  Our staff kept us appraised of their condition as Isaac came through New Orleans with posts on Facebook, including videos and pictures.  Below is a photo of one of their updates.

Fortunately their home sustained some damage, but nothing catastrophic.  Our crew in NOLA (New Orleans, Louisiana) is currently working helping a local church replace their roof, and do other recovery repairs, from the big winds and rain that Isaac brought to town.  We are so grateful that Isaac was only a category 1 hurricane, and that our staff and their families were spared any major damage!

Other Ministry News

Jim has several web site projects coming to fruition.  For the past 16 months he has been working with a mission in Haiti developing for them an online web-based trip registration system.  They’re finishing up the final testing with anticipation that they’ll go live with the program on October 1st!  In addition, two other local community ministries has engaged us to help them with their web site presence. We are also putting the final finishing touches on a new Intranet for The Global Community Health Evangelism Network.  Their Intranet will enable them to expand their ministry offerings to similar organizations around the world helping each partnering organization to connect with others in need, and others who can meet needs.

It’s always a pleasure to see how the Lord expands our ministry impact through other organizations around the world.

Personal

Phyllis continues to recover from her shoulder surgery.  In about 3 weeks she gets to revisit the surgeon where they’ll be doing xrays on her OTHER SHOULDER to determine if surgery is also warranted.  It seems like such a long recovery, and it continues to be quite painful for her, especially at night.   Thus she’s lost a lot of sleep in the past weeks!  Our plans are to rent a a mini-recliner for her to sleep in if she does have the same surgery on her other shoulder.  Thank you for your continued prayer, and your care, for her.  Her spirits are really good especially now that the surgeon has released her to drive a car!
