The Vision of a Laundromat and a Medical Clinic

On January 23rd we sponsored two “donut and coffee” meetings to share our vision for 115 N. Wayne Ave to house a business-as-missions laundromat and a Biblically centered medical clinic.   At the end of each meeting we asked those attending to pray and consider where they could be involved in the process of the creation of these visions.

We’ll be reaching out to each who participated in these meetings in the next few days to followup.

We also want invite you to participate on one of these teams if you so desire!   Please reach out to us with your interest by emailing us here, or giving us a phone call/text at 502.235.7338.

We now have confirmed dates on our building space calendar for startup activities with ESL and after school clubs.   We are very very excited to have these restarts scheduled!

You are invited to participate in the upcoming cultural training leading up to ESL class schedules.  These training classes are designed for ESL leaders.  You are welcome to attend, even though you may not be leading an ESL class, as long as space is available!  Register early!!!

Prayer Request

Good News Club Lockland, Cru Lockland, Young Life Lockland, neighborhood summer activities in the parks, neighborhood cookouts, rehabbing two buildings and other “events” all have a common component – creating relationships with students and adults.   In building relationships we desire to be able to present the hope that we have through Jesus to those we meet.  In the process we become closely attached to those we have gotten to know, and those we are getting to know better as a result of being a part of the fabric of the community and the neighborhood.   We get to experience our friends and neighbors joys and hurts.

Recently, Tuesday, 1/27/2021, the entire Village of Lockland was shocked at the news of a shooting.  A female student from Lockland Schools was shot in the chest, at a house two doors down from the school. She was rushed to U.C. Hospital where she passed away. Brooklyn and her family live right across the street from the Metanoia Center. The kids from this household attended our after school programs. We were heartbroken at the news, along with the rest of the Village. Please pray for our school leadership as they continue to respond to the aftermath of this tragedy – and for our after school teams – specifically Cru and Young Life – as they re-connect with the students.  This happened while three students handled a stolen handgun, one of the students fired the gun killing Brooklyn. Pray also for the Lockland Community as we process through this…for understanding, kindness, and care and for the presence of Christ as Believers and the church respond to this tragedy..

The Metanoia Center will be reaching out to the family to help them with some financial needs and to see where else we can be of help.
