Global, Local and Community Missions
Local and Community Missions
In the month of September the Metanoia Center rolled out a new website that is leaner, and thus faster, for site visitors to explore! The Center’s website is at http://www.metanoiacenter.net. The website tells site visitors about the Center, how they can engage and, when available, how to register for courses being offered.
We’ve been asked recently by several different people “what is one thing that would catapult your ministry and the Metanoia Center forward?“. Our reply – funds and resources for a physical location from which the center can function. Specifically a physical location in the Village of Lockland. Pray with us to this end. Consider connecting us to those would have interest and be able to help! Also, we would love to have someone working with us towards grants or foundations.
Smile
Amazon offers a program name Amazon Smile. This is a simple way for those who shop on Amazon to help fund a non-profit of their choosing. The Metanoia Center is one such non-profit. Visit smile.amazon.com and signup for this program. Then choose your non-profit. From there, every-time you visit smile.amazon.com to make a purchase a portion of your purchase is donated by Amazon to that non-profit. Have a look at the image below of our personal activity for 2019. Imagine with us, if 100 people signed up on Smile Amazon and chose the Metanoia Center what this number could be! Perhaps it would be as high as $1600.00 or $16,000 for this year!
Prayer Walk
On October 19th, Saturday, we’ll be sponsoring one more prayer walk for 2019 in the Village of Lockland. We’ll be re-visiting the area south of Wyoming Avenue and East of Interstate 75. We’ll be walking/praying on these streets stopping at every cross street and stop sign to pray. Where we can we’ll be connecting with those on the streets to pray with them, too. This prayer walk will last about two hours and will start shortly after lunch. We’ll be partnering with Faith Bible Church (www.fbccincy.org), Cincinnati, as a part of their annual Missions Conference, as a local mission emphasis.

Training Courses
Phyllis is more than half way through this fall’s Faith & Finances course material. She is facilitating with a group of 10-12 women from another local Village of Lockland ministry, Juliette’s Hope. Juliette’s Hope works with abused, battered, trafficked and recovering women providing them with a place to live, assistance, training and help getting their lives back on track. In the process every woman is introduced and taken through a Biblical discipline process.
Jim is working with a team from several different churches bringing ESL to the Village of Lockland. To date they’ve had 12 different individuals partake in the classes. The countries of Senegal, Mauritania, Guatemala and others have been represented by the students. The classes are being held in the Village Recreation Hall on Sunday late afternoons.
Another opportunity for when the Metanoia Center has it’s own location is the ability to offer courses and classes, such as ESL and Faith & Finances, with a more convenient and flexible schedule throughout the week. Part of our physical location dream is to create a community space that is safe and open in order to be able to create friendships that lead to conversations about God.
Global Missions
As you recall, Jim is the Technology Facilitator for the Global CHE Network. The Network continues to grow with CHE being utilized in a multitude of ministries, and mission organizations, around the world. Latest statistics indicate that CHE (community health evangelism) is used in more than 134 countries with 29,000+ workers in 901 different organizations! In our local ministry here in southwest Ohio we utilize a hybrid urban version of CHE as our mission strategy. Jim’s technology role is one that overlaps into different areas, from email updates, to making 17,000+ CHE lessons available in a variety of formats to members, to keeping the “bad guys” at bay on several CHE websites.
Your faithful prayer and financial support make it possible for us to extend Biblical influence around the world – from our living room to small villages to large, modern metro communities. Thank you!
Serving With You Because of Him,
Jim and Phyllis
