Newsletter April 2022
Work Day
Saturday, April 23 has been scheduled in our calendar as a work day for the Metanoia Center. We are needing about 10 volunteers to help us in loading debris into a truck (about 4 or 5 volunteers) and another 4 or 5 volunteers to help us with exterior painting. Lunch will be provided! Read the full details by clicking the button below to visit our website where you can also reserve a spot for you!
Work Day Details“Shake the Roof” Matching Gift Challenge
We have received a matching gift challenge of $6,000.00 towards replacing the current shake style roof on the front of 115 N. Wayne Ave with a black metal roof (actually it’s not a roof in the classic sense, but more the facia of the building that looks kind of roofish, but we call it a roof anyway for ease of communication) . The current replacement estimate is $12,000.00. This is a dollar-to-dollar match. The challenger will match every dollar donated, up to $6,000.00.
A donation by check, or online, or cash in person will help us reach the $6,000.00 goal! Complete information can be found at this link!
As of today’s date, April 1, 2022, $1100 has been donated towards this challenge!
Video Update
Below is a spring unprofessional, unedited video update of the progress made at the Metanoia Center. Note: where Jim says Jefferson County – Jefferson County is Louisville, Kentucky where we lived for many years. We are waiting on permits from Hamilton County, Cincinnati, OH where the Metanoia Center is located (not Jefferson County).
Kroger Community Rewards
Thank you to everyone who signed up last month making the Metanoia Center your Kroger Rewards participating organization!!! You can also signup for Kroger Community Rewards Program and designate the Metanoia Center as your Rewards Card community organization where a portion of your eligible Kroger purchases will be provided to the Metanoia Center. There is no cost to you for this program! Read more about it here!
Mentoring and Tutoring
We’ve had a few conversations about how to expand our after school efforts by adding another day. Our program leader, Keith Ray, has shared that if we had 10 volunteers committed to an afternoon, that we could add an extra day of ministry. The focus of this day would be tutoring and mentoring of students working closely with the needs identified by Lockland Schools for those students who participate. In addition we would need some resources, such as water, healthy snacks and some supplies, but most importantly volunteers who are comfortable with reading, writing, English and arithmetic.
Let us know if you would be interested in helping so we can ascertain the possibility of adding an extra day for this purpose! Send an email to director@metanoiacenter.net, with your interest along with your full contact details including all school subjects of interest to you. With this information we’ll be able to consider when we can begin this effort based upon the responses of volunteers. Please post this announcement to your church as well!
