Helping to  Finish Phase 1

As our general contractor gets closer and closer to completing the construction of Phase 1, the bottom floor of 113 N Wayne Ave., we are getting more excited!  Some days we are on sight 3, 4 or 5 times to watch the progress. It‘s very exciting to see the transformation, and what God is doing through our volunteers, donors and workers!

We have created a web page listing out the items that will help finish Phase 1 – for when the doors open to the public.   Several items on the list have already been donated – thank you!

You can view the list by going to:

Ministry Opportunities

Judi and Dior

We are now seeking volunteers to come alongside of the Metanoia Center to help us accomplish our mission, and to provide them with a ministry of their own.   To this end we’ve created an OPPORTUNITIES page on the website that lists some of the volunteer opportunities.  Their are opportunities ranging from helping keep the building neat and tidy to being a Community Chaplain.

Check them out by following this link – and contact us at anytime with any questions about ministering through the Metanoia Center.

Phase 1 – Making a Home for the Metanoia Center – continues to progress.  Here are some highlights:

  • More than 20 individuals donated a day, some two days, to put 13 gallons of primer and 10 gallons of paint on the walls.
  • The duct work for the HVAC system has been installed.
  • The flooring is installed.
  • As this email is being sent, the ceiling is being painted.
  • Coming up soon, electrical, doors, a fire door, toilets, sinks, cabinets and finishing touches!

We praise God for the many hands and gifts that have made this possible.

Looking ahead, we are waiting for our general contractor to submit his estimate for Phase 2 – the second floor.   Finishing Phase 2 will complete the renovation of this building and provide for a sustainable income flow, through the rental of two apartments, for the ministry of the Metanoia Center!

Prayer List

  • Pray for the homeless, and under-homed, as the economy worsens and the weather becomes more wintery.
  • Pray for the health of our volunteers especially our tutors, MC Club team and English Language Class team who engage people on a personal closeup level.
  • Pray for those who God is calling to minister with us as our doors open to the public.
  • Pray for continued funding for operations, and for the completion of Phase 1 and Phase 2.
  • Pray for the harvest as we are seeing people drawn to our ministries by the Holy Spirit – for our witness of Christ, for the testimony of the Hope within us.
  • Pray for safety for those who live in the neighborhood as there has been a rash of events lately.
